Kakaós csiga – Yeast dough cocoa rolls

For 6-8 servings


For the dough:

– 300 ml milk
– 60 g sugar
– 650 g strudel flour
– 30 g yeast
– 2 eggs
– 60 g butter

For the filling:

– 60 g butter
– 60 g cocoa powder
– 60 g sugar

For the topping:

– 150 ml milk
– 1 packet of vanilla sugar
– 30 g butter




For the yeast dough cocoa rolls, you’ll need to measure the ingredients separately. Take 100 ml of the measured milk and mix in a teaspoon of sugar. Sprinkle a tablespoon of strudel flour into it, then crumble in the yeast. Slightly beat the eggs and mix them in as well. Set this mixture aside to let it rise.

To the remaining flour, add the sugar, soft butter, milk, and the yeast mixture that has risen. Knead everything together thoroughly, then knead it for a long period, about 10-15 minutes. Cover it and let it rise for an hour.

For the filling, mix together the soft butter, cocoa powder, and sugar.

Roll out the risen dough on a well-floured surface into a rectangle about half a centimeter thick. Evenly spread the sweet buttery cocoa mixture over the dough, then roll it up tightly.

Slice the roll into pieces about one and a half centimeters thick and place them about one centimeter apart from each other. Cover and let them rise for an additional 20 minutes. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes or until they are done.

While they are baking, bring 150 ml of milk to a boil in a saucepan, melt the butter in it, mix in the vanilla sugar, and then drizzle this mixture over the finished baked goods. Allow it to soak in – this will make them even more delicious and moist. Serve lukewarm. Enjoy!
