Meatloaf is undeniably a culinary gem – it embodies simplicity in preparation, delights the taste buds, and provides a nourishing meal. Allow me to introduce you to a straightforward, yet exquisite meatloaf recipe crafted from succulent pork that is sure to tantalize your senses and leave you craving for more!
- 1 onion
- 1 tablespoon of oil
- 1 stale bread roll
- 100 ml warm milk
- 500 g minced pork
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of marjoram
- 2 tablespoons of breadcrumbs + for coating
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 egg
- Sufficient oil for frying
For seasoning you can use this spice mix which will take it to another level:
Finely chop the onion and sauté it in oil with a pinch of salt until it becomes golden brown.
Cut the bread roll into 2 cm cubes, pour warm milk over it, and let it soak up the milk. You don’t need to squeeze it; this is why you only need a small amount of milk. This will make the final result extra juicy.
Mix together the minced pork, spices, soaked bread roll, and breadcrumbs. Add the crushed garlic, season with salt, crack in the egg, and mix thoroughly. Let it rest in the refrigerator for half an hour.
Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized patties and flatten them slightly to give them their characteristic shape. Roll them in breadcrumbs.
Heat oil to 160 degrees Celsius (320 degrees Fahrenheit) and fry the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side until they are golden brown. Place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
Preparation time: 40 minutes + 30 minutes resting time.
